People

Way of Nature is hosted and led by people with a deep passion for this work and for the wellbeing of people and our planet. Each of us has trained and worked with elders and teachers from a number of traditions, and has spent many years exploring how to ‘bridge’ this work in meaningful ways. Around this, we hold a connection to the original founder of Way of Nature in the USA - John P. Milton. John has been an inspirational figure in ecological and spiritual fields for many decades and we continue to build and expand on the work that he started over sixty years ago.

Adrian Kowal

Adrian deeply appreciates the importance of spending time out in nature. Since being a boy, he would camp for up to three weeks at a time and ever since, he’s had a passion for finding wild waters to swim in. That’s where he became hooked on all things nature-connected. He adores showing people the awe-inspiring qualities of spending time across forests and mountains in Europe and beyond. Adrian himself pines for a healthy mix between adventure (doing) and slowing down (being), both of which he brings into the retreats and expeditions that he runs. Adrian deeply enjoys supporting the balance in people’s personal holistic well-being, working with men’s groups, on relationships and also guiding adventures and expeditions.
When not out in the wilds Adrian is the co-founder of Evolve—a centre of yoga and well-being in central London. He also works on a host of other businesses and projects that involve being of service, supporting the emergence of a better world for our grandchildren’s grandchildren and having a great deal of fun and connection along the way.
A few of his other projects here:
- An alternative school in Tuscany - Poggio D’Oro
- A Nature Powered Pension Scheme growing timber
